Luke is a Senior Solicitor in the field of Personal Injury, having worked in the law for over 20 years.  Both of Luke's daughters attended Bubwith Primary School.  He is keen to try and promote the school as a centre for excellence in order that it can continue to attract new pupils from both Bubwith and the wider community.

On a personal note Luke is a keen climber and is also currently working towards gaining his private pilot's licence.

Emma is a Chartered Legal Executive with specialism of life planning matters, having previously worked in family law including child protection cases.  Emma believes that all children should be given equal and maximum opportunity to achieve their full potential. 

Emma's daughter currently attends Bubwith Primary School. Emma is one of the leaders of the Eco Club at the school and enjoys seeing the children's enthusiasm for being in the outdoors and learning about the planet.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and their numerous pets.

Alison's career has always been in education. After 12 years of teaching in secondary schools, mostly in Inner London, Alison changed sectors to primary education with a particular interest in special needs. In time she was appointed teaching head of a successful village primary school on the outskirts of Huddersfield and enjoyed 11 years in this role. Her experience means that Alison gained good understanding of the challenges faced by primary schools in terms of curriculum, staffing, inspection, assessment, finance and premises management.

Alison enjoys being involved in helping young people to grow and develop in secure and happy learning environments and, is delighted that she is able to volunteer in Ash class each week.

Nearly all Fran's working life has been spent in education, working as a primary and middle school teacher in a variety of local authorities. Fran has also been involved in teaching and organising junior chess. Whilst a Deputy Head Fran also acted as an advisory teacher for Maths, writing and KS1 assessment. Fran then became the Headteacher of a village school in the East Riding and so has a clear understanding of both the challenges facing small rural schools and the excellent educational environment they can provide.

Fran enjoys the outdoors in particular walking along the Bubwith rail trail and may be seen taking slow bike rides on the lovely flat and quiet side roads around Bubwith and is a keen allotment owner. Other hobbies include reading (especially reference books on History and on art, detective stories and French literature) knitting and embroidery, listening to podcasts on current affairs and watching cricket.

Alex's career has revolved around the miltary and has been particularly focused on training, operational and emergency planning, construction and project management and some more traditionally military associated activities (military engineering and counter terrorism).  Alex holds the Army ethos to ‘Serve to Lead’ dear and hopes to continue this in her career and life.

Alex has some experience in the education sector having been a classroom assistant in inner city Birmingham, taught in a secondary school in Africa and been the Officer Commanding of a Company of new recruits (each rotation 160 people) as they go through training and the transition from civilian to soldier.  

Alex has a keen interest in sustainability and ways in which the school can support this.  Alex is lead of initiatives within the school including the recycling and re-use of school uniform, nativity costumes and walking boots, the latter are used for the annual Yr5 and Yr6 residential trip.  These initiatives allow items to be accessible to all families whilst promoting the protection of the planet and reducing waste.

Pip joined the WRAF in 1965 and trained as Air Traffic Controller.  Four years later Pip left WRAF and trained as an orthopaedic/trauma pyshiotherapist.

Although no longer working in the WRAF, Pip's husband continued working in the RAF with Pip having responsibilities covering health/ welfare and baby clinics.  During this period, Pip moved 19 times and has lived in various countries including Saudi Arabia, Australia, Falkland Islands and Belgium.

Pip spent the last 10 years of her working life at York Hospital as a member of the orthopaedic/trauma physiotherapy team.

Pip is a keen gardener and you will often see her around the school gardening and helping in the Wildlife Area.

Helen has worked at Bubwith Primary School since 2015, first as a nursery nurse in Ash Class until 2019 after which she left to train as a teacher in an inner-city school in Hull. Helen then returned in 2023 to teach in Willow Class.

Helen is passionate that all children receive the very best educational opportunities to enable them to thrive. She enjoys working in such a special school that nurtures pupils to shine, whatever their talents through the delivery of a varied curriculum. Helen is keen to ensure that the curriculum is engaging and meets the needs of all pupils.

In her spare time, Helen enjoys spending time with her three children and walking her dogs in the countryside.

For almost all of his working life Barry has been an engineer and a project manager working in various technical and senior managerial roles, with the last 25 years as a project manager in the Healthcare/Radiology arena. Barry is currently self-employed as an IT/PC engineer working locally. Barry believes his various skills and experience will be an asset to the school.

Barry has lived in the village since 2005 and enjoys county walks, classic cars and foreign travel.
